General aviation can be primarily described as any activity in aviation outside of airline flying that involves (generally) light aircraft.
It covers anything from flying instruction and bank document running, to fire spotting, scenic flying, charter flying, mining survey work, medical evacuation and coastal surveillance to name but a few.
It is an occupation where you can spend a few years building up your hours to get into regional or major airline flying or where you might decide to spend the rest of your career.
The variety and scope of work in this section of aviation is far and wide and the potential for a career within this field is usually good.
This section of the industry is particularly suited for an individual with a strong entrepreneurial streak and a good work ethic.
